How I Work
My Teaching Philosophy.
In order for lessons to be successful student and teacher need to be on the same page when it comes to goals and responsibilities. If you decide to work with me, together we will make specific goals for your playing and take full ownership in our roles in the learning process. If we both commit to our responsibilities then we can achieve almost anything!
My Roles and Responsibilities
- I will assist students in the process of creating
goals, as well as developing a practice routine that will help achieve them. - I will expose my students to relevant horn repertoire, technical skills, music theory, music history, and current musical events that will improve their musicianship.
- I will communicate with student/parent
individually about scheduling, progress, and
other important information in a prompt manner. - I will use all my resources and skills to shape
my students into well-rounded musicians.
Student Roles and Responsibilities
- Students will maintain regular practice hours, based on individual goals.
- Students will arrive at lessons with their assignments prepared to the best of their ability.
- Students will communicate lesson cancellations as early as possible, but at least 24 hours in advance.
- Students is responsible for bringing a notebook, pencil, horn, metronome/tuner and assignments to every lesson.
